Q8. The mission or purpose of my company makes me feel my job is important.


     8.1 Exec staff members should use the IEEE and CS mission statements
in email signature lines

     8.5 Profile volunteers' reasons for devoting spare time and weekends
to the IEEE and the CS 


     8.2 Contribute to the development of a new CS mission statement
           IEEE's mission statement is much improved; our's leaves me
cold, personally
     8.3 Improve the signage in both locations to publicize IEEE and CS
programs
     8.4 Devote a bulletin board in each location that highlights outreach
and non-revenue programs
     
8.6 Have each department's monthly report feature a paragraph from one
staff member in that departmnet saying how their work contributes to the
company's success.

     8.7 Create an employee digital newsletter that focuses on and
rewards individual and group contributions to the company's success.

8.8 Have an art and one page essay contest for $512 grand prize on core purpose.



Q6. There is someone at work who encourages my development

     6.5 Establish a mentoring program where each new or fairly new employee
is hooked up with a more senior staff member outside his or her department
to help guide the newcomer's development.

     6.4 Encourage the use of Colleague for professional development --
lead by example and ensure that our profiles are in Colleague

     6.1 Establish a development plan for each employee nlt the midyear
review; allocate $ to support the program
     6.2 Celebrate completion of training programs via a short program at
every All-Staff; give prizes
     6.3 Encourage each team to "reset" its understanding of team member's
abilities and training by exchanging resumes or otherwise sharing
professional accomplishments and goals with one another.

     6.6 Make taking 1 elementk class a quater an expected behavoir and provide recognition for the people who pass the most classes and use the knowledge they learned on the job.
